What Is the Purpose of the Course?
The training aims to increase shuttle drivers’ awareness of traffic and passenger safety, support the development of driving habits appropriate to the size and weight of their vehicles, and contribute to reducing accident and injury risks in employee shuttle transportation.
Who Is the Course For?
The training can be tailored to the employee transportation operations and road safety needs of each organization:
- Corporate Shuttle Drivers: Minibus, midibus, and bus drivers employed directly by an organization or working for a contracted transport provider.
- Employee Transportation Companies: Companies providing employee shuttle services to corporate clients and seeking to improve their drivers’ safe driving skills.
How Is the Course Delivered?
The training consists of two stages combining theoretical instruction with practical driving exercises:
1. Interactive Theoretical Training
The theoretical section uses visual materials and sample accident analyses to cover driver psychology, traffic culture, vehicle size and weight dynamics, stopping distances, blind spots, and passenger safety.
2. Practical Training and On-Road Observation
Depending on the scope of the program, practical exercises are conducted in a closed-course training area or on public roads. Emergency braking, blind spot checks, proper lane use, and safe passenger boarding and drop-off procedures are practiced under the guidance of qualified instructors.
Course Content and Key Topics
- Vehicle Size, Weight, and Blind Spots: Weight transfer, stopping distances, stability risks, and the blind spots of minibuses, midibuses, and buses.
- Traffic Rules and Operational Safety: Speed limits for shuttle vehicles, proper lane use, safe intersection approaches, and the selection of suitable passenger boarding and drop-off points.
- Defensive Driving and Risk Awareness: Early hazard recognition, maintaining a safe following distance, and driving safely in adverse weather and road conditions.
- Driver Psychology and Traffic Culture: Stress and anger management, professional communication with passengers, traffic ethics, and corporate representation.

Certification and Accreditation
- DVR Accreditation and TOSFED Approval: DUZ Academy and its instructor team are accredited by the German Road Safety Council (DVR) and approved by TOSFED.
- Certificate of Participation: Drivers who complete the training receive a Certificate of Participation bearing the DVR logo.
